An Ongoing, Erratic Diary

19 October 2012, 6:13 PM

Kevin took Kavi out to lunch yesterday (half-day at school). At the restaurant, there was a photo on the wall with a group of chefs.

Kavi: Daddy, why do they all look the same?
Kevin: They're all chefs; that's why they're all wearing white coats and hats.
Kavi: NO, daddy. [clearly exasperated with his obtuseness] Why do they all have peach skin?
Kevin: I don't know, Kavi.
Kavi: Look -- [points to black man working behind the bar counter washing dishes, and continuing very loudly] -- HE'S a chef, and he doesn't have peach skin!
