Herotica 7
Herotica 7 is the seventh colection of woman-authored and focused erotica
from Down There Press. In Herotica 7 we've focused on a multicultural
approach, asking how ethnic or cultural backgrounds can affect a person's
sex life, solo or partnered. Are you a first, second, third (or
more)-generation immigrant? Have you been involved with someone from
another race/culture? If so, what were the effects, positive or negative,
of cultural differences on the sex in these encounters/relationships? What
did you learn from one another? What issues did you struggle with? How did
you work them out? The collection offers stories of substance that
illustrate how ethnic or cultural differences get played out in the
bedroom.
This volume of Herotica has been edited by Marcy Sheiner, a contributor to
the first three volumes and the editor of Herotica 4, 5 and 6. Mary Anne
Mohanraj, contributor to Herotica 6 and author of Torn Shapes of Desire,
has served as Consulting Editor.
The Herotica series has been acknowledged by The Nation as "representing
images of desire for the nineties." Kirkus Reviews describe it as "the
most successful series so far of erotica written by women." Other mentions
have appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times, USA
Today, SF Chronicle, Whole Earth Review, Playboy, and Publishers
Weekly.
We are currently in the final editing phase of this anthology, which will
be forthcoming in 2001.
