To Test an Agnostic

To Test an Agnostic

They tried once to convince me
with brimstone, hate and history
waterfalls and consistency
a universe of complexity -
that God must surely be.

But only now can I see
in the miracle that you could be,
and somehow, too, in love with me
an argument that somewhere She
is laughing silently.
